(BRANT COUNTY, ON) –Members of the Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called by County of Brant Ambulance Service to assist at a Simcoe Street, Scotland address in The County of Brant at approximately 12:15 a.m. on March 14, 2016.
OPP officers attended the residence and following their investigation arrested a male. The male was transported to Brantford General Hospital where a confrontation occurred with a police officer.
Police have charged 46-year-old Stephen BRENNAN with the following offences under the Criminal Code of Canada:
Fail to Comply with Recognizance
Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm x 3
Assault a Peace Officer
Take motor vehicle without owner’s consent
Driving a motor vehicle while ability impaired
Fail to stop at the scene of an accident.
He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date to answer to the charges.
The officer suffered minor injuries and was treated and released from hospital.
