Break, Enter and Theft While Homeowners Sleep

(MIDDLESEX CENTRE, ON) – On July 31, 2016, the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of break, enter, and theft incident, which occurred while the homeowners were sleeping.

Between approximately 10:00 p.m. on July 30, 2016 and 4:00 a.m. on July 31, culprit(s) attended a residential property on Ashwood Crescent. Once on the property, they trespassed, and accessed the interior of the residence, through a side door.

The homeowners awoke in the morning to discover miscellaneous items, including electronics, and a wallet (with contents), had been stolen.

It appears the kitchen and garage areas, and two vehicles, were entered.

Avoid access by intruders. Lock your doors and windows, even while you are home. Install quality locks, and a deadbolt on each outside door. Keep all valuables in the home in secure locations. Consider recording serial numbers and taking photos of personal property for documentation purposes. Watch for suspicious people or activity in your neighbourhood, and report any incidents to police immediately.

Anyone with information regarding this investigation is encouraged to contact their local police. The OPP can be reached anytime, anywhere in the Province of Ontario, at 1-888-310-1122.
