(KENORA, ON) Members of the Kenora Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating two break and enters over the weekend.
On Saturday September 6, 2014 OPP were notified by a resident in the Lakeside area that they had recovered some property outside of their home that did not belong to them. Police attended and determined the property was from a break in which occurred at a neighbour’s home. Police spoke with the neighbour who advised she had heard a noise inside her residence around 3:30 am. She observed an unknown male leaving her residence with alcohol and other items. The investigation revealed the unknown item was food items from the home and the suspect left alcohol and garbage from the stolen goods in the neighbour’s yard.
The suspect is described as in his early 20’s, approximately 6 feet tall, 220 lbs, with short hair and scruffy facial hair. He was wearing a fluorescent green t-shirt, possibly a safety type shirt.
Another break in was reported on Sunday September 7, 2014 at 10:20 am. Police were advised that morning around 5:00 am, an unknown female suspect had tried to force entry into a home in the North end of Kenora. The suspect left when the homeowner woke up and the motion light came on. No entry was gained to the residence.
The suspect is described as a First Nations female in her early 20’s, between 5’1†and 5’4†with a black hoodie.
