Break And Enter While Homeowners Sleep

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment responded to a reported break and enter to a residence while the homeowners were sleeping at a residence on Richard Avenue, Norfolk County, Ontario.

OPP investigators attended and discovered that unknown person(s) attended the Richard Avenue residence at approximately 6:00 a.m. on 23 August 2016 while the home owners were sleeping. The thieves entered the residence and took a purse containing personal identification and cash.

The Norfolk County OPP wants to remind the public to “Protect your property” and avoid being a victim by following some of these helpful tips:

Watch for suspicious people or activity in your neighbourhood

Lock doors and windows, even if you are in the backyard

Keep garage doors and entry doors secured

Keep valuables in the home in secure locations
