Break And Enter To Abandoned School

(TILLSONBURG, ON) – The Oxford County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was called to investigate a break and enter a property on Maple Lane in Tillsonburg, which is the former Maple Lane Public School.

Police were notified at 6:25 p.m. on Monday, April 4, 2016 by the alarm company and arrived in the area shortly after the call was received. Tillsonburg Fire Department also attended as a fire alarm was registering inside the building as well.

Investigation revealed that unknown suspect(s) entered the building through a boarded up south west window. Once inside the suspects set off one of the buildings fire extinguishers. No other damage was reported and nothing was taken.

The investigation into the mischief is continuing.

The OPP is asking residents to be vigilant in recognizing suspicious people or vehicles that are in your neighborhoods. It is important for this information to get to police when the suspects may still be in the area.
