Shortly after midnight on Sunday evening the Chatham Kent Police were called to attend a break and enter to a McNaughton Avenue, Chatham home. Stolen were several jewelry boxes and a “Coach†purse. On route to the break and enter a vehicle that was observed fleeing the scene was intercepted by officers who then attempted to conduct a traffic stop. The driver eventually stopped the vehicle on Sass Side Road, Chatham and fled the scene on foot and eluded capture by police. In the vehicle officers located the property from the McNaughton Avenue break and enter as well as 2 televisions that police believe may be related to another unreported break and enter.
The Chatham Kent Police Scenes of Crime officer attended and processed the contents, successfully retrieving evidence to assist in the investigation.
