BREAK AND ENTER-FIREARMS STOLEN AND RECOVERED

(KENORA, ON) Members of the Kenora Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Street Crime Unit (SCU) have charged a male and female from Kenora following an investigation into a Break and Enter that occurred on September 24, 2014 on the north side of the city.

On September 24, 2014 at approximately 7:30 am, the OPP received a complaint of a suspicious vehicle outside of a residence. Police attended and observed there was forced entry gained inside the residence. Upon further investigation, it was determined suspects had stolen firearms from the residence.

As a result of this investigation, Steven ROBERTSON age 31 has been charged with Break and Enter and steal a Firearm contrary to section 98(1)(b) of the Criminal Code (CC), Break and Enter to Commit an Indictable Offence (2 counts) s. 348(1)(b) CC, Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition contrary to a Prohibition Order s. 117.01(1) CC, Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm s. 92(1) CC, Possession of a Firearm or Restricted Weapon Obtained by Crime s. 96(a) CC, and Careless Storage of a Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited device or ammunition s. 86(1) CC, . He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing November 5, 2014.

Melisa MANSFIELD, age 34 has been charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, Under $5,000 s. 354(1)(a) CC, Break and Enter a Place and Steal a Firearm s. 98(1)(b) CC, and Break and Enter dwelling house-Commit an Indictable Offence s. 348(1)(b) CC. She is to appear in Kenora Court on October 30, 2014 to answer to the charge.
