(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) – On February 25, 2016 at approximately 9:30 pm the City of Kawartha Lakes Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to an alarm at Fenelon Falls Secondary School (FFSS).
Nobody was found at the property at the time, but entry was gained. As a result of subsequent investigation 18 year old Douglas BATZ of Woodville, and three young persons, two aged 17 years and a 14 year old, have been charged with the following offences:
Mischief Under $5000 contrary to section 430(4) of the Criminal Code of Canada (CCC)
Break, Enter a Place with Intent to Commit an Indictable Offence contrary to section 348(1)(a) of the CCC.
The young persons were released to appear in Youth Justice Court in Lindsay on March 22, 2016 and the adult accused to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay on March 24, 2016.
The young persons cannot be named due to provisions in the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
