(MUNICIPALITY OF NORTH PERTH, ON) On Wednesday April 18, 2012, Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers in Listowel were dispatched to Central Public School on Binning Street, where a break-in was discovered.
Investigation revealed that sometime between 5 p.m. on Tuesday April 17th and 7 a.m. on Wednesday April 18th 2012, an unknown person(s) gained entry into the school. One of the classrooms in the north/east wing of the school was entered by forcing open a sliding window located on the east side of the school. The same window was used by the suspect(s) to leave the classroom.
Inside the classroom, two laptop computers were removed. Both laptops are grey in colour and are made by Hewlett Packer. One laptop is a model 6560B the other a model 6730B.
The classroom window or the approach to it is adequately lit and is not obscured from view from the street or the surrounding homes. This is the fourth break-in to the school since January 8, 2012. In each case computers were stolen from classrooms.
