Brantford Police Daily News Release – 03Jan2018

Type: Suspend Drive

Incident: 18-00248

Location: St Paul Ave and Brant Ave

Incident: On Wednesday January 3, 2018 shortly after 2:30 a.m. Community Patrol Officers observed a vehicle at the intersection of St Paul Ave and Brant Ave. Officers performed a traffic stop on the vehicle and spoke to the driver. Upon speaking to the driver he was unable to provide his licence or any other documents for the vehicle. Further investigation revealed that the diver’s, drivers licence was currently suspended. A 34 year old Brantford male is charged with Drive While Under Suspension, Disobey Sign and Fail to Surrender Permit for Motor Vehicle under the Highway Traffic Act. He is also charged with Fail to Surrender Insurance Card under the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act.

Location: Colborne Street East (600 Block)

Incident: On Wednesday January 3, 2018 a resident on Colborne Street East reported their bicycle stolen. Sometime overnight unknown person(s) cut the lock and stole a Giant Hybrid bicycle that was locked outside the resident.

Type: Attempt Theft of Motor Vehicle

Incident: 18-00277

Location: Bury Court

Incident: On Wednesday January 3, 2018 a business on Bury Court reported the attempt theft of a vehicle parked in the parking lot. On January 2, 2018 sometime after 7:00 p.m. unknown person(s) attempted to steal a vehicle parked in a parking lot. The door lock was damaged and the vehicle entered. The suspect(s) were unable to take the vehicle.

Incident: 18-00415

Location: Brant Ave

Incident: On Thursday January 4, 2018 a break and enter was reported on Brant Ave. Sometime overnight unknown person(s) broke into a storage container on the property. At the time of the report it was unknown what was taken.

Type: Break and Enter – Commercial

Incident: 18-00424

Location: Sherwood Drive

Incident: On Thursday January 4, 2018 a break and enter was reported on Sherwood Drive. Sometime overnight unknown person(s) entered into a building complex and broke into the laundry room. Laundry machines were entered and money taken.
