Brantford Crime Briefs – 29June2016

Type: Attempt Robbery

Incident # 16-22936

Date: June 27, 2016

Location: Dalhousie Street (300 Block)

Incident: On Monday, June 27, 2016 at approximately 9:30 a.m. two men followed the victim into a pharmacy on Stanley Street and watched as he filled his prescription medication. When the victim left the pharmacy, the two men chased him to his residence and attempted to steal his medication by grabbing him and punching him. The victim was able to maintain control of his property and the two men fled the area. Community Patrol Officers were contacted and investigated the incident. The victim was able to identify the two men.

On Monday, June 27, 2016 at approximately 5:10 p.m. a 32 year-old Brantford man was arrested and charged with Attempt Robbery. He was held for a bail hearing.

On Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at approximately 3:15 p.m. a 27 year-old Brantford man was arrested and charged with Attempt Robbery. He was held for a bail hearing.

Type: Theft (Commercial)

Incident # 16-23078

Date: June 28, 2016

Location: Henry Street (200 Block)

Incident: On Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at approximately 10:45 a.m. a man attended a business on Henry Street to return items previously purchased from the store. While returning the items, the man provided his identification. After returning the items and exiting the store, the man was observed stealing an air compressor from the rear of a pick-up truck in the parking lot. He then fled the area. Community Patrol Officers were contacted and investigated. The man was subsequently located and arrested without incident.

As a result, a 46 year-old Brantford man was charged with Theft and held for a bail hearing.

Type: Stolen Vehicle

Incident # 16-23094

Date: June 28, 2016

Location: Dalhousie Street at Market Street

Incident: On Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at approximately 2:15 p.m. a Community Patrol Officer was on routine patrol in the area of Dalhousie Street and Market Street when they observed a Chevrolet Monte Carlo parked on the side of the road. Investigation revealed that the vehicle was reported stolen to the Hamilton Police Service earlier in the day. Two women were observed exiting the vehicle and were subsequently arrested. When asked to identify themselves, the driver provided a false name.

As a result, the driver, a 20 year-old Brantford woman was charged with Motor Vehicle Theft and Obstruct Police. She was held for a bail hearing.

The passenger, a 37 year-old Brantford woman was charged with Possession of Stolen Property and released on an Appearance Notice for a future court date.
