Brantford Police Major Crime Detectives Arrest Two Men in Attempted Robbery Investigation

On Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at approximately 1:15 a.m. a 60 year-old woman attended the Brantford Charity Casino. While walking through the parking lot, she was approached by a man who asked for directions. While giving the directions, the man grabbed the woman’s purse and attempted to steal it from her. A struggle ensued and the woman was able to maintain control of her purse. The man got into a vehicle which was driven by an accomplice and they fled the scene.

Through investigation, police were able to identify the two men.

As a result, Arel Carl BLOOMFIELD, 24 years, and Aldred Anthony FOSTER, 40 years, both from Mississauga, Ontario, have been arrested and charged with Attempted Robbery.

Police are Seeking the Assistance of the Public to Identify a Man in an Attempted Robbery

On Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at approximately 1:15 a.m. a woman attended the Brantford Charity Casino. While walking through the parking lot, she was approached by a man who asked for directions. While giving the directions, the man grabbed the woman’s purse and attempted to steal it from her. The woman was able to maintain control of her purse and the man fled. Community Patrol Officers were contacted and investigated.

Through investigation, the following description was received of the suspect: a black man in his 20’s wearing a black t-shirt, blue jeans and possibly tan sneakers. He had a chain necklace hanging outside his t-shirt and wore a New York Yankees baseball hat. He also had a blue cast with a blue sling on his right arm.

The Brantford Police Service is appealing to the public for anyone who can assist with identifying the suspect. Anyone with information please contact Detective Jason Davis at 519-756-0113 ext. 2274.
