Brantford Crime Briefs – 18Nov2016

On November 17, 2016, at approximately 5:10 p.m., members of the Brantford Police Street Crime Unit stopped a vehicle that had a male occupant who had been observed trafficking in controlled substances. The man was arrested and the following was located during a search of the man and the vehicle:

• 3.5 grams of cocaine (street value $350)

• 2.7 grams of heroin (street value $1080)

• 1.5 grams of crystal methamphetamine (street value $225)

• 34 x 12 mg hydromorphone capsules (street value $680)

• 16 x 4 mg hydromorphone tablets (street value $160)

• 2 x 30 mg hydromorphone capsules (street value $80)

• 4 x 2 mg hydromorphone tablets (street value $10)

• 2 x 40 mg OxyContin tablets (street value $80)

• 5 x 5 mg OxyContin tablets (street value $50)

• 4 x 10 mg morphine tablets (street value $60)

• 5 x 2.5 mg Percocet tablets (street value $10)

• $3411.25 in Canadian currency

• Packaging materials

A 56 year-old man was charged with the following:

• Possession for the purpose of trafficking x’s 7

• Breach of recognizance order

The accused has been held for bail.

Type: Theft of Motor Vehicle

Date: November 17, 2016

Location: Oriole Parkway (0-100 Block)

Incident: Sometime between 6:00 p.m. on November 16, 2016 and 8:00 a.m. on November 17, 2016 a Chevrolet Silverado pick-up truck was stolen while it was parked on the road in front of a residence on Oriole Parkway.

Location: Coachwood Road (0-100 Block)

Incident: On Thursday, November 17, 2016 at approximately 6:24 p.m. a man attended a residence on Coachwood Road and entered it without permission. The homeowner did not know the man and directed him out of her house. While the man was leaving, he kicked the woman’s car which caused a dent. Community Patrol Officers were contacted and located the man a short distance away.

As a result, a 24 year-old Brantford man was arrested and charged with Unlawfully in a Dwelling House and Mischief. He was held for a bail hearing.
