(FORT FRANCES, ON) – On August 20, 2015 at 2:07 am, officers of the Rainy River District Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a traffic complainant of a possible impaired driver in the Town of Fort Frances.
Officers located the motor vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed on McIrvine Road near Birch Street in Fort Frances. The driver, Brandon TUPPER, age 21 years of Lavallee Township was showing signs of impairment. He was arrested and transported to OPP Detachment for breath tests. The vehicle was towed from the scene and impounded for the mandatory 7 days. The driver was subsequently charged with,
-Care and Control of a Motor Vehicle while Impaired
-Having Over 80 milligrams of Alcohol in 100 milliliters of Blood
-Stunt Driving (driving over 50 kilometers over the posted speed Limit)
-Operate with No Insurance
-Novice Driver with Blood Alcohol Count above Zero
-Fail to Surrender Drivers Licence
-No Current Validated Permit
-Fail to Surrender Vehicle Permit
He will appear in Fort Frances Provincial Court on October 5, 2015.
