(CENTRE WELLINGTON TOWNSHIP, ON) – On January 17, 2015 at approximately 12:53 a.m., members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated the driver of a 2006 Chevrolet that was travelling at a high rate of speed on Highway 6 near the Sixth Line of Centre Wellington Township.
Upon speaking with the driver police detected the strong odour of alcohol on his breath. A Roadside Screening Device test was conducted which resulted in a fail. He was arrested and transported to a local OPP Operations Centre for further testing.
The driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and vehicle impounded for seven days as per statute.
Brandon LECLERC age 33 of Guelph has been charged with Over 80 mgs contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada and Speeding contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on February 10, 2015 to answer to the charges.
