(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON.) – A recent traffic complaint received by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) resulted in the arrest of a Barrie man for alcohol related offences.
On January 9, 2015 the OPP received information related to a vehicle being operated in an erratic manner on Simcoe Street near the 6th concession in the former Eldon Township. Prior to police arrival the vehicle drove into the ditch. Upon arrival the officer determined that the driver had been consuming alcohol.
The driver was transported via ambulance to a local hospital for precautionary measures and was later charged with several offences after refusing to provide a breath sample.
Bradley PARKIN, 45 years of age, of Barrie, was charged with operating a motor vehicle while his ability was impaired and failing to provide a breath sample, contrary to the Criminal Code. Mr. PARKIN was also charged with Class G2 licence holder driving with blood alcohol above zero, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.
The accused was held for a bail hearing on January 10, 2015.
