(RED LAKE, ON) – On Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at approximately 9:47 am, officers from the Red Lake Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of an explosive device threat at the Red Lake District High School.
All students and faculty of the Red Lake District High School have been evacuated and re-located to the Red Lake Royal Canadian Legion. Officers have set up a perimeter surrounding the school and are currently on scene conducting a search of the school for any unusual or suspicious packaging. The OPP North West Region Explosive Disposal Unit (EDU) has been advised.
A criminal investigation has been initiated. More information will follow as it becomes available.
