(ESSA TOWNSHIP, ON) – On Sunday August 25, 2013, at approximately 6:15AM, officers from the Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with members of the Essa Township Fire Department responded to a report of a car on fire in the area of Scotch Line and County Road 21.
After the fire was extinguished, police located a deceased person in the burned out remains of the vehicle.
The ongoing investigation is continuing at this time as the OPP work with the Peel Regional Police (PRP) to determine the identity of the deceased person located in the vehicle.
Scotch Line between County Road 21 and 10 Sideroad in Essa Township will remain closed for this police investigation until further notice.
