(TAY VALLEY TOWNSHIP, ON) – On Friday, August 12, 2016, officers from the Lanark County Ontario Provincial Police attended a possible drowning in Tay Valley Township. Lanark County OPP officers were called to investigate the incident on the Narrows Locks area of the Rideau Canal System.
With the assistance of Lanark County OPP Marine Unit and the OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit on August 14th, 2016 the body of 24 year old Bryan Phillips from Richmond Hill, ON was recovered from the water on the Narrows Locks portion of the Big Rideau Lake in Tay Valley Township.
The deceased was boating with family and fell into the water, he was not wearing a personal flotation device.
A Post Mortem examination was conducted on the deceased on August 15th, 2016.
