Body Found In Burnt Vehicle – First Degree Murder Charge Laid

(PLYMPTON, ON) – Members of the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a vehicle fire January 31, 2016 at 3:15 a.m. on the westbound lanes of the 402 Highway near the Camlachie Road overpass.

The body of a 37-year-old Gurpreet K. BRAR from Brampton Ontario was discovered in the burnt vehicle. The victim was sent to the Office of the Chief Coroner and Forensic Pathology Services in Toronto for further examination.

Members of the Lambton County OPP under the direction of Detective Inspector Heidi Stewart of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) continued to investigate the circumstances pertaining to the fire and subsequent death.

As a result of the investigation, the OPP has charged 50-year-old Sukhchain Singh BRAR, also from Brampton Ontario with First Degree Murder. He will appear in Sarnia court on Thursday, February 4, 2016 to answer to the charge.
