Bobby Joe GARRISON – Drunk Driving, Collision With Tree

(CHATHAM-KENT, ON) On January 16, 2015, just after 10:00 p.m., a Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was on patrol on Bloomfield Road near Sixth Line, when he observed a southbound Dodge Charger traveling in excess of the posted speed limit of 80 kilometres per hour.

Before the officer could initiate a traffic stop, the vehicle struck a tree at the intersection of Bloomfield Road and Eighth Line. The officer attended at the scene moments later. Although there was extensive damage to the vehicle, the driver had exited the vehicle without injury. While the officer was speaking with the driver, 44 year old Bobby Joe GARRISON, from Raleigh, it was determined that he had been consuming alcoholic beverages.

Subsequent tests indicated that the driver was over the legal limit and he will appear in a Chatham court on January 30, 2015, to answer to the charges of Driving With More than 80 mgs. of Alcohol In Blood and Driving While Ability Impaired, under the Criminal Code of Canada.
