(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment investigated a bicycle collision at a Charlotteville West Quarter Line Road, Charlotteville, Norfolk County, Ontario, address.
On Monday, July 13, 2015 at approximately 7:57 p.m., OPP and Norfolk County Paramedics responded to a Charlotteville West Quarter Line Road for a collision involving 2 bicyclists.
Through investigation it has been determined approximately 3 bicycle operators were travelling on Charlotteville West Quarter Line Road between St Johns Road West and Charlotteville Road 7 when one of the cyclists began to brake resulting in both cyclists touching wheels. This caused both riders to fall from their bicycles.
A 61 year old male and a 54 year old male of Norfolk County, Ontario were taken to a local area hospital and treated for minor injuries. There were no injuries associated to the third cyclist.
The OPP is reminding all bicycle operators to obey all traffic laws and to signal all turns and stops. Give adequate warning to cyclists behind you by calling out “stopping” when you intend to stop. All bicycle enthusiast need to keep in mind that a rider who touches a wheel to the wheel of the bike ahead will come down, resulting in severe road rash or more serious injuries.
