Bert Sanders – Drunk Driving

(MORRIS TURNBERRY, ON) – On February 4, 2011 at approximately 3:30 pm an OPP officer initiated a traffic stop after observing a driver not wearing his seatbelt on Jordan Drive. Upon speaking to the driver, the officer formed the opinion that the driver had alcohol in his system so he read a demand for the driver to provide a roadside sample of his breath. The driver complied and failed his test. He was then arrested for driving with over 80 milligrams of alcohol.

The driver was transported to the Huron OPP Detachment where he met with a qualified Intoxilizer Technician to provide two more samples of his breath. The readings confirmed that the driver had a blood alcohol level that was above the legal limit of 80 milligrams.

As a result of the traffic stop and investigation, Bert SANDERS (56) of Belgrave has been charged with one count of Drive With Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol and one count of Fail to Wear Seatbelt. He will answer to his charges in the Ontario Court of Justice – Wingham on April 21, 2011. His vehicle was impounded for 7 days as per statute.
