(LAMBTON, ON) – On Saturday February 4th, 2017 at around 3:00 a.m., a member the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), while on routine patrol, observed a vehicle being driven in an erratic manner on Mandaumin Road, Town of Plympton-Wyoming.
OPP followed the vehicle onto Lakeshore Road and conducted a traffic stop to check on the sobriety of the driver. During the traffic stop, the officer had reasonable suspicion that the driver of the vehicle had been drinking alcoholic beverages. A road side breath demand was made which resulted in a Fail. The driver was consequently arrested and transported to the Lambton OPP – Petrolia Detachment for further breath testing which resulted in readings over the legal limit.
As a result, 53 year old Bernard P. CHARETTE from the Town of Plympton-Wyoming, ON has been charged with,
Driving With More Than 80mgs of Alcohol in Blood
The accused will appear in the Sarnia Ontario Court of Justice on Monday March 6th, 2017.
