Bernard DEMMERY – Drunk Driving

(MIDDLESEX CENTRE, ON) – On May 17, 2015 at approximately 00:11 a.m., a red Chevrolet pickup truck failed to stop at a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E.) checkpoint which the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting on Gideon Drive and Carriage Road.

Police observed the vehicle accelerate southbound on Carriage Road. Officers initiated a traffic stop, and the vehicle eventually stopped.

It was determined that the 54 year old male driver had been drinking alcohol. He was placed under arrest, and transported to a Middlesex County OPP detachment for breath testing.

As a result of the investigation, Bernard DEMMERY, from Middlesex Centre, Ontario, has been charged with driving while ability impaired – motor vehicle (alcohol), and driving with more than 80 mgs of alcohol in blood, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

The accused was released from police custody by way of a Promise to Appear, and is scheduled to answer to the charges on June 30, 2015, in a London court.
