On Saturday, August 10 2013 at 10:30 pm, officers responded to a report of a motor vehicle taken without consent at a family gathering taking place at Arrow Lake.
A male had asked a family member to borrow a vehicle, a 2003 GMC Yukon, to take for a ride. The male was advised he was not allowed to drive the vehicle. A short time later, the male took the keys that were located in a pocket. He was once again advised that he was not allowed to take the vehicle. The male entered the truck and drove away.
While the male was driving the vehicle on East Arrow Lake Road, he was involved in a single vehicle collision with the truck ending up in the ditch. The male managed to remove the vehicle from the ditch.
The male returned to the gathering and advised that the vehicle was parked at an intersection near Highway 588 and East Arrow lake Road.
The vehicle sustained extensive damage and could not be driven.
