(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON.) -An officer from the City of Kawartha Lakes detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a vehicle that was travelling in excess of the speed limit and subsequently charged the driver with racing, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.
On November 2, 2013 an OPP officer observed a vehicle travelling at 141 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone on Little Britain Road, within the City of Kawartha Lakes. The driver, Benjamin ADAIR, 28 years of age, of Newmarket, was charged with racing and his driver’s licence was seized. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
