Bear Killed In Collision

(MIDDLESEX COUNTY, ON) – Around 12:12 a.m. on July 8, 2016 Middlesex OPP responded to single motor vehicle collision involving a small bear.

A Subaru SUV was traveling west bound on Egremont Drive just west of Poplar Hill, Ontario and struck a black bear which was on the‎ road.

The female driver from Strathroy-Caradoc, Ontario was uninjured. The bear died as a result of the collision. The vehicle sustained heavy damage to the front passenger ‎side and the air bags deployed.

The OPP are reminding residence that bear sightings can be reported to the Ministry of Natural Recourses Ontario at the bear hotline: 1-866-514-2327.
