(QUINTE WEST, ON) – On the 11th of January, 2016, at approximately 2:30pm Quinte West OPP and Quinte West Fire Department responded to a call for a possible explosion at 24 Annwood Court in Trenton. When officers arrived on scene it was learned that there was an explosion in the basement of the house and that fire had spread through the building. As a result of the explosion a male was transported to hospital via ambulance with serious injuries while a female was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Quinte West OPP is still in scene and members of the Quinte West Crime Unit as well as the Ontario Fire Marshalls Office are investigating the cause of the explosion.
Damaged is estimated at $250,000.
