Occurrence Type: Domestic Assault

In the early evening of Saturday 26th March 2016 a 50 year old Barrie man was in discussion with his girlfriend as to why their 9 year old relationship was apparently failing.

During that discussion the male slapped his girlfriend across the face.

The male was arrested and charged with breaching his probation and assaulting the female.

He was held in custody for bail

Date: Saturday, March 26, 2016 – 1:30am

At approx 0130hrs in the morning of Sunday 27th March 2016 Barrie Police received a call from a female who advised that she was at work in a local Barrie Club and was concerned that a male was trying to break into her home.

Investigations revealed that the female had been in contact with the 30 year old Mississauga male over the past 2 days via Facebook. She had only met with him at her place of work to advise him that she no longer wished any further contact. The male had become abusive and threatening both in person and with text messages.

Police attended the females residence where they discovered the male sat in his vehicle at that location.

He was arrested and charged with multiple offences, including Death threats, threats, attempt Break & Enter and several counts of mischief before being held for bail. The male also was charged with offences related to drinking and driving.

Date: Sunday, March 27, 2016 – 1:25am

At approx 0125hrs in the morning of Sunday 27th March Barrie Police came across a male holding a beer can and staggering in the downtown area.

The 23 year old Barrie male was uncooperative and would not follow the officers directions.

As the male became increasingly belligerent the officers were left no option other than to arrest the male. He was held until sober enough to be released later in the morning.

Occurrence Type: Criminal Harassment

Date: Friday, March 25, 2016 – 7:30pm

On the 25th of March 2016 Police answered to a call with regards to Criminal Harassment.

Upon investigation it was revealed that there was numerous people being harassed by the accused. The harassment consisted of an abundance of electronic messages.

The accused was charged and held for bail. All devices used in the offence were seized as evidence.

Police reminded people to be respectful of others.
