Occurrence Type: Weapon For A Dangerous Purpose

Date: Sunday, May 31, 2015 – 5:45pm

On Sunday May 31st at approximately 345 am The Barrie Police Service commenced an investigation after a 9-1-1 call was placed to police in regards to a male who was in possession of a firearm.

Further information was received later in the day which resulted in a high risk vehicle stop, the arrest of 3 males parties, and the recovery of an imitation firearm from within a vehicle.

The investigation is ongoing and further charges are pending at this time.

A male wanted by Barrie Police was arrested by another police service for being intoxicated in a public place.

An investigation revealed that the male was wanted by Barrie Police for failing to appear in court.

The 30 year old male was transported back to Barrie where he is held in custody pending a Bail Hearing.

Date: Sunday, May 31, 2015 – 2:10am

A female contacted Barrie Police concerned about her ex-husband harassing her.

The female feared that while she was out of her home her ex may have entered her residence and she feared for her safety.

Barrie Police officers attended her residence to check for the male.

The male was located in her residence and was arrested and charged accordingly.

The male was also wanted on an outstanding warrant.

He was held in custody pending a Bail hearing.

Date: Saturday, May 30, 2015 – 7:00pm

Barrie Police commenced an investigation into a domestic dispute which resulted in the arrest of 2 youths. Both youths were males were charged with assault, forcible confinement and mischief and held over night pending a bail hearing.

Date: Saturday, May 30, 2015 – 10:00pm

Barrie Police investigated 2 impaired drivers overnight.

Both drivers were males and when tested, produced significant blood alcohol levels.

Once sober the males will be released with future court dates.

The Barrie Police were kept busy throughout the evening dealing with several persons who had consumed excess amount of alcohol. Due to their high levels intoxication, these parties needed to be held for their own safety. Once sober, all will be released.

Date: Saturday, May 30, 2015 – 6:01am

On May 30th, 2015 in the early morning hours Barrie Police received a 911 call from a distraught female. The female reported being assaulted by her husband.

An investigation revealed the female was trying to stop her husband from driving a vehicle while intoxicated. The male punched the female in the head and stomach.

The female suffered minor injuries.

Barrie Police officers responded and charged a 32 year old Barrie man with Domestic Assault and 2 counts of Uttering Threats.

The male was held in custody pending a Bail Hearing.

Date: Friday, May 29, 2015 – 11:00pm

Barrie Police were called to a Bernick St residence for a female reporting her common law boyfriend had assaulted her.

Police arrived and found the female had actually struck her boyfriend with a bottle of a air freshener. (no injuries sustained)

In addition, Police found the 20 year old female was also wanted on a Barrie bench warrant for failing to attend Court.

She was arrested for assault with a weapon and failing to attend court (bench warrant) and transported to the Barrie Police Service for a bail hearing.

After investigating the assault, the victim was wanted by the Toronto Police Service warrant in the first instance for failing to comply with his recognizance.

He too was arrested and transported to the Toronto Police Service where he was held for a bail hearing.

Date: Friday, May 29, 2015 – 8:45am

The Barrie Police were alerted by a citizen to a male party who appeared to be very intoxicated, and stumbling down city streets.

Police located the male who produced a Probation Order as his identification.

It was quickly ascertained that the male was breaching two Probation Orders and had a warrant out for his arrest.

Police arrested the suspect and is being held pending a bail hearing.
