On Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at 2:50pm Police were called by a citizen who had just received a ride from a local taxi to Duckworth Plaza. The citizen believed the driver of the cab was drunk and immediately called police, keeping a close eye on the vehicle in the Tim Horton’s drive through.
The taxi was stopped by police and given a roadside test which he failed. The driver was arrested and taken back to the Barrie Police Service for further testing and later charged for driving while impaired.

On Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at 10:00pm Police were called to 22 Ross Street, in the City of Barrie by the landlord of the building after he was head butted by a tenant. Multiple residents and witnesses were on scene that identified the accused as the one responsible for the head butting.
A 22-year-old male was arrested for assault and transported to the Barrie Police Service to be held for a bail hearing. Once the male was lodged in Barrie Police cells, he continued to have trouble controlling his anger; punching the light fixture in the cell causing a cut that required stitches to close. The male is now healing calmly while awaiting his court appearance today.

On Thursday, November 12, 2015, Barrie Police Street Crime Unit arrested a male and female responsible for two break and enters within the City of Barrie on November 9, 2015.
Further investigation led police to a pawn shop in the town of Newmarket, where the accused parties sold the items they had stolen. Police were able to retrieve the items.
A 26-year-old female and 27-year-old male from Barrie have been charged with two counts of; break and enter, theft and possession of stolen property.
The female was released on a promise to appear with an undertaking and will appear in a Barrie court in December. The male was held for a bail hearing Friday morning.

On Thursday, November 12, 2015 at 10:00am Police were called by a property owner who required Police assistance in removing a person who unlawfully staying in a rental unit. Once Police arrived at the apartment they found five Toronto males who were in possession of drugs, large quantities of money, multiple cell phones and drug paraphernalia.
The males were all arrested for Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking as well as multiple breaches and outstanding warrants. Four of the men were held for a bail hearing and one was released with a future court date.
