(PERRY TWP, ON) On Tuesday February 20, 2014 the Almaguin Highlands Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated a traffic complaint on Highway 11, Perry Township.
OPP stopped the vehicle and the driver provided police with a driver’s licence belonging to someone else.
On Wednesday February 21, 2014 officers discovered that the driver had provided them with a false name and attempted to locate the driver.
On Wednesday February 26, 2014, OPP located the driver and he was subsequently arrested and charged with obstruct police and identity fraud contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada, fail to have insurance card, contrary to the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act and several offences under the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario.
The accused, Kyle COBET (30) of Barrie, Ontario was held for a bail hearing on Friday February 28, 2014 in Parry Sound Ontario.
