(MUNICIPALITY OF WEST PERTH, ON) – On Friday September 02, 2016, around 1 p.m., members of the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a residence along Perth Road 163 in Fullarton in response to a Criminal Code Violation.
Upon arrival at the residence the male advised officers that he would not be coming out of the residence and he subsequently barricaded himself inside the home.
Perth County OPP officers set up containment around the residence, while additional specialized units responded. West Region OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) and Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU) members along with OPP crisis negotiators attended and shortly before 10 p.m. the man was taken into custody.
40-year-old Jesse LORD of the Municipality of West Perth has been charged with the following Criminal Code of Canada offences:
Fail to comply with recognizance (X2)
Unlawfully in a dwelling house
He remains in custody and is being held for a next available bail hearing.
Shortly after 10 p.m. all roads in and around Fullarton have been re-opened. At no time was there any threat or danger to neighbouring residences.
