On March 14th at approx. 4:00 p.m. police and Fire crews responded to a working barn and silo fire on Broad line in Chatham Twp. At the time of the fire 80 cattle were in the barn. The responding Chatham-Kent police officers and the owner were able to free most of the cattle. Unfortunately, 7 cattle died as a result of the fire. Damage is unknown but estimated between $500,000 – $700,000. Nobody was hurt in the fire. This scene has been held for further investigation.
