(Ottawa) As part of the Ottawa Police Service’s continued commitment to working collaboratively with the diverse communities of Ottawa, and in keeping with our Flag and Banner Recognition Program, the Ottawa Police Service will proudly display a banner recognizing Black History Month in the lobby of 474 Elgin Street for the entire month of February.
About Black History Ottawa
In 1995, the Government of Canada designated February as Black History Month, to celebrate the contribution of people of African descent to the Canadian mosaic.
The theme for 2014 is Our Canadian Story: Making Our Voices heard!” This theme will be highlighted in all Black History month 2014 activities
