Bank Robbery Charges For 52 Year Old Male

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Norfolk County Detachment has charged a 52 year old male after police responded to a Haldimand and Norfolk County, Ontario address.

On Friday, January 23, 2015 at approximately 9:47 a.m., a lone male entered the CIBC financial institution located on Talbot Street East, Jarvis, Haldimand County, Ontario and handed the teller a note demanding money. No funds were turned over to the suspect who then exited the bank and was last seen heading west bound on Highway 3.

The employee was not physically injured during this incident.

The suspect was described as a male, white, 6’0, approximately 40 to 50 years of age, wearing a green jacket, green shirt and multi-coloured toque.

At approximately 10:13 a.m., the same suspect entered the TD Canada Trust financial institution located at Queensway East, Simcoe, Norfolk County, Ontario and handed a teller a note demanding money. A quantity of Canadian currency was turned over at which time the suspect fled from the bank in an unknown direction.

The employee was not physically injured during this incident and police were provided with a description of the vehicle that fled the scene.

Officers patrolling the area subsequently located the male who was taken into custody without incident.

As a result of investigation, a 52 year old male of Welland, Ontario was charged with attempted robbery and robbery.

He is currently in custody and is to appear in Provincial Court, Simcoe at a later date to answer to the charges.
