Bancroft OPP Weekly Press Release

(BANCROFT, ON) – During the week of the 22nd of August 2016 through to the 28th of August 2016, officers with the Bancroft Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to one hundred and thirteen (113) calls for service.

These investigations included an alarm call, threats of suicide, animal complaints, breach of probation, dangerous conditions calls, two (2) domestic disputes, six (6) family disputes, impaired/over 80 investigation, liquor licence act, four (4) mischief complaints, ,neighbour disputes, noise complaints, fourteen (14) police assistance calls, sudden death, two (2) stolen vehicles, four (4) thefts, three (3) threats calls, twenty (20) traffic complaints, three (3) trespass calls, trouble with youth, weapons calls and other police related calls for service.

Three (3) criminal code charges were laid as a result of those investigations.

Officers also responded to nine (09) motor vehicle collisions, all as a result of not paying attention or careless driving.

Officers conducted seven (7) R.I.D.E. programs throughout the Bancroft detachment area and stopped approximately 85 vehicles.

During that same period, officers laid thirty one (31) Provincial Offence Notices, including fifteen (15) charges for speeding, one (1) for careless driving, one (1) for follow to close, three (3) insurance related, one (1) turn not in safety, three (3) liquor licence act charges, four (4) commercial motor vehicle charges and other Highway Traffic Act offences.
