(BANCROFT, ON) – During the week of the 17th of October 2016 through to the 23rd of October 2016, officers with the Bancroft Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to seventy three (73) calls for service.
These investigations included three (3) alarm calls, two (2) ambulance assistance, two (2) animal complaints, break and enter, bail violation, two (2) breach of probation, three (3) domestic disputes, three (3) drug offences, two (2) frauds, impaired/over 80, mischief, a missing person, a neighbour dispute, two (2) noise complaints, eight (8) police assistance calls, a suspicious vehicle, theft, three (3) traffic complaints, three (3) traffic hazards, and other police related calls for service.
Five (5) criminal code charges were laid as a result of those investigations.
Officers also responded to six (6) motor vehicle collisions, three (3) of which involved colliding with animals.
Officers conducted five (5) R.I.D.E. programs in the area, resulting in fifty two (52) vehicles assessed for drivers who had been consuming alcohol.
During that same period, officers laid fifty two (52) Provincial Offence Notices, including twenty one (21) charges for speeding, failing to properly wear seatbelt, operating motor vehicle – no insurance, driving while suspended, liquor licence act offences and other Highway Traffic Act offences.
