(Bancroft, ON) – In the early morning on November 09, 2016 officers of the Bancroft Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), were conducting a R.I.D.E. check at the intersection of Monck Street and Valleyview Drive in the Town of Bancroft.
While checking a vehicle with four occupants, officers determined that a male passenger was wanted on an outstanding warrant from Killaloe OPP detachment and he was subsequently arrested.
Upon further investigation, officers located and seized a quantity of cocaine, ecstasy and marihuana, which resulted in the vehicle driver and two other occupants being arrested.
The street value of the drugs that were seized totalled four thousand dollars ($4000).
Shane WHITEMAN, 37 years from Madawaska Valley was arrested on the outstanding warrant and is additionally charged with:
Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine,
Possession of a Schedule I substance – (Ecstasy),
Breach of Recognizance,
Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000,
Possession property obtained by crime under $5000,
Passenger – fail to properly wear seatbelt.
Jason GRUNTZ, 34 years from South Algonquin is charged with:
Possession of a Schedule II substance – Cannabis Marihuana,
Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine,
Possession of a Schedule I substance – Ecstasy,
Fail to comply with probation order,
Both males were held for bail hearing at the Ontario court of Justice on the 10 November, 2016 in Belleville Ontario.

Jamie-Lynne JAMIESON-MCKAY, 36 years from Madawaska Valley is charged with:
Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine,
Possession of a Schedule I substance – Ecstasy
Clarissa GRUNTZ, 29 years from South Algonquin is charged with:
Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine,
Possession of a Schedule I substance – Ecstasy
Both female were released on a Promise To Appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Bancroft Ontario on December 13, 2016.
