(MATTAWA, ON) – On June 13, 2015 at approximately 2:30 a.m., Mattawa Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), North Bay and District Ambulance Service (Mattawa) and the Mattawa Fire Department responded to a single fatal motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Bissett and 12th Street in Mattawa.
As a result of the collision, Delina MINOR, 26, of Mattawa succumbed to her injuries. The passenger, André TREMBLAY, 30, of Mattawa suffered minor injuries and was transported to the hospital for medical attention.
The driver, Austin JANVEAUX, 33, of Papineau Cameron Township also suffered minor injuries and was transported to the hospital for medical attention. JANVEAUX was charged with:
Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle Causing Death as per s. 294(4) of the Criminal Code (CC);
Causing Death by Criminal Negligence as per s. 220(b) of the CC;
Impaired Operation / Care or Control of a Motor Vehicle as per s. 255(3) of the CC; and with
Fail or Refuse to Provide Sample Drugs/Blood as per s. 254(5) of the CC.
He is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Mattawa on June 24, 2015.
