On Tuesday, April 8, 2014, a lone male entered a gas bar located at Oxford Street West and Westdel Bourne at approximately 8:40 p.m., armed with a tire iron and demanded cash.
An altercation occurred between the employee and the suspect, resulting in both sustaining non-life threatening head injuries. The suspect did not receive any cash but fled the area in a stolen vehicle that was found abandoned on Boler Road later that night.
Aaron Schuyler, 28 years, of London, was arrested on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 and has been charged with the following Criminal Code of Canada offences:
– Attempted robbery, contrary to section 343(c);
– Assault with a weapon, contrary to section 267(a);
– Have face masked/disguised, contrary to section 351(2); and
– Possession of property obtained by crime, over $5000, contrary to section 354(1)(a).
The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear for court by video today.
