(QUINTE WEST, ON) – On August 3rd, 2016, at approximately 8:40pm officers from the Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a disturbance call at 50 Marmora Street in Trenton.
When officers arrived on scene they located a 69 year old male with serious life threatening injuries.
As a result of the investigation Gregory James SLOAN, 40, of Trenton has been charged with:
Attempt to Commit Murder – CC 239(1)(b)
The accused is being held in custody and is expected to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice 15 Bridge Street West, Belleville, today for a bail hearing.
The victim was transported to hospital by ambulance with life threatening injuries.
The Quinte West OPP Crime Unit under the direction of OPP Detective Inspector Jim Gorry, Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB), is continuing the investigation.
Further Charges are pending.
