(ATIKOKAN, ON) – Shortly after 7:00 am on October 1 2014, members to the Rainy River District Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a break and enter in the Maple Crescent area of Atikokan. The investigation at the scene revealed that the break enter had happened the night previous. While investigating the break and enter, officers made note of a second residence in the area that had been broken into.
These break ins are currently under investigation by the Rainy River District OPP.
Members of the public who have any information regarding these break and enters are urged to call the OPP Provincial Communications Center (PCC) at 1-888-310-1122 or anonymously to Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
If you observe suspicious activity that seems out of place in your neighbourhood, be sure to report it as soon as possible to the OPP.
Working together with the community, the Rainy River District OPP hopes to bring charges against those who perpetrated these crimes.
