(TOWNSHIP OF CHATSWORTH, ON) – On Saturday, October 25, 2014 at approximately 6:00 a.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a confrontation involving a knife between multiple parties at a Garafraxa Street residence in the Township of Chatsworth.
Investigation revealed that a verbal argument between a male and female escalated into a physical altercation. When one of the individuals attempted to intervene, she was assaulted, resulting in another altercation between the victim’s son and the other male, at which time a knife was used in a threatening manner.
As a result, an 18 year old male was arrested and held in police custody pending a bail hearing scheduled for today, October 28, 2014.
He faces multiple charges including, assault, assault with a weapon, mischief under $5000; and two counts of failing to comply with a probation order under the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA).
A second accused, a 23 year old male, was charged with assault causing bodily harm. He is to appear in court in Owen Sound on November 27, 2014.
Both accused reside in the Township of Chatsworth.
