On the 22nd of October 2014, at approximately 9pm Barrie Police received a call in the area of Veterans and Mapleton in regards to two youths throwing rocks at vehicles as they drove by. Police attended the area to investigate the matter and observed two youths run into a nearby forested area in an attempt to evade the officer.
The investigating officer attended the forest and on approach was struck in the face with a rock thrown by one of the suspects. In an attempt to locate the suspects a police perimeter was established and a K-9 track was conducted. Police searched the area vigorously but were unable to locate the suspect males. It is possible the suspects live in the area.
The only description is youth males dressed in dark clothing.
The officer attended the RVH and was treated for minor injuries.
