Assault on bus – arrest

On October 14, 2014 at 2:35 p.m., the Guelph Police were called to investigate an assault and theft. It is alleged that two men, not known to each other, entered a city bus on College Avenue West. One of the men tackled the other knocking him to the floor. He then took the victim’s student ID card and left the bus. Police investigation led to the identification and arrest of the man a short time later. The victim was not injured in the assault.

A 31-year-old Guelph man has been charged with assault, theft under $5,000, possession of stolen property and breach probation x two counts. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing on October 15, 2014.
