(QUINTE WEST, ON) – The following are the persons that have been charged in the following incident:
20 year old Morgan MATTIS and 21 year old Carly MATTIS both of Trenton and 25 year old Steven BIRD of Trenton.
On September 18th, 2016, at approximately 2:30am officer from the Quinte West Detachment of the OPP attended an establishment in Trenton for the report of a disturbance.
When officers arrived on scene they were met by several uncooperative parties.
During the course of the investigation police arrested a 25 year old male from Trenton. During the arrest a 20 year old and 21 year old female attempted to intervene in the arrest.
The females have been charged with Obstruct Peace Officer Section 129(a) of the Criminal Code.
The 25 year old male has been charged with Obstruct Police Officer as well as Assault Peace Officer 270(1)(a) Criminal Code of Canada.
All the parties involved were released on Promise to Appears with court dates on October 29th, 2016, at the Ontario Court of Justice 15 Bridge Street West, Belleville.
