(KENORA, ON) Members of the Kenora Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police, the Northwest Region Crime Unit, the Northwest Region Emergency Response Team (ERT) and the Kenora Forensic Identification Unit are on the scene of a serious assault in the downtown area of Kenora.
Shortly after midnight on Sunday, October 2, 2016 police were called to a downtown residence to a report of a seriously injured man. Police and ambulance attended and the male was transported to hospital with serious, life threatening injuries. Police are holding a scene on a trail near the railway tracks on Main Street North and encourage anyone with information about the incident to call the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or CRIMESTOPPERS at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
The investigation is continuing.
