During Homecoming festivities in Waterloo, at about 10:24 pm police were called to a large party on State St at Fir St in the city of Waterloo. The street was filled with approximately 1000 people. Upon police arrival dozens of bottles and cans were thrown at police officers. It took aproximately one hour and 43 officers to disperse the crowd and bring peace to the area. No one was injured. Damaged was caused to several vehicles including police vehicles that were struck by bottles. A 19 year old male from Guelph was arrested and charged with Assault Police with a Weapon. A final report including Stats for Safe Semester will be released later this week.
